Significance of an optimistic attitude As the picture indicates, what John pursues in his life is to be happy. So do I. However, for everyone, life is a journey full of ups and downs. How can one stay happy when confronted/ faced with trouble and setbacks l? I believe an optimistic attitude towards life is what it takes to overcome difficulties and fulfill our dreams. Take one of my experiences for example. Three years ago, my friend and I were both caught in an unfavorable situation where we just couldn’t make any progress however hard we tried. Having been defeated many times, she was desperate and even thought it no use studying hard, while I was still hopeful and persisted in studying hard. With a positive attitude, I cheered up, got down to studying harder than before and gradually my math did improve a lot. As for my friend, she was still lost in pessimism. Apparently, what leads me to success is an optimistic attitude toward life. On the contrary, if one always feels doubtful about himself and the future, he can hardly succeed. As the famous saying goes, without an optimistic attitude, life is like sailing without a compass. So remember whenever we suffer from seemingly undefeatable difficulty, we should be an optimist and strengthen our resolve to move forward.
