Analysis of the demands and tendencies of the cloze tests 2. Analysis of the conditions of the students in this subject 3. Analysis of the methods I adopt how to review this subject Part1 The demands and tendencies of this subject Definition of cloze test: The cloze test is the most difficult and the most demanding part in the whole papers, the passage chosen to test us covers some 350 words, usually no title. It is often an original short story and there is no blank in the first sentence. Goals: It mainly tests Ss’ basic knowledge of English, especially on the meaning of the vacabulary and the whole comprehension of the context, including some common sense and background, some logical analysis. Characteristics: An original short narrative story 2. The first sentence is complete 3. A surprising or instructive ending 4. Choices mainly are nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs Now let’s analyse the tests in the past 2009-2011年湖北完形填空基本数据统计 From the analysis above, we can draw a conclusion: The tendencies of the cloze tests this year may be an original short narrative article. it may be a little more difficult than last year. It mainly tests on verbs and their expressions; nouns; adjectives and adverbs. whats more, there are many clues in the content. We should take the whole passage into account. Part 2 The conditions of the students in this subject According to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus (新课程标准和教学大纲), our students should master some 3,600 words and expressions. But our school is a country senior school though it is a key one.
