Students are interested in greetings and introducing their own names and his/her classmates’ names.

Step 1 Greetings and introduction
I say, Hello, My name is Wang Qin. Nice to meet you. And write: My name is Wang Qin. on the blackboard. Ask the students,
What’s the meaning? Maybe I need to help them. Come up to one student, Say,
T: My name is Wang Qin.
What’s your name?
S1:My name is ….Help him/her.
T: Nice to meet you.
S1: Nice to meet you, too.
T: Hello! I’m Wang Qin. (Come up to another student.)
What’s your name?
S2: Hello! I’m…
T: Nice to meet you.
S2: Nice to meet you , too
T: Hi! I’m Wang Qin. (Come up to the third student.)
S3: Hi! I’m … Help the student.
T: Nice to meet you.
S3: Me, too. Help the student to answer.
Ask students to open their books and turn to Page1, and look at the picture in 1a.
Read the conuersations after the tape.
After that , I ask, “What are they doing?” in Chinese or in English. Help the students to answer.
“They are introducing themselves and greeting people ” in English.
