What is it? Where is it? How much do you know about it? 【设计意图】通过观看视频,激发学生的同时,引导学生思考今天即将学习的内容,顺利引入今天的主题。 Step 2 Pre-reading Learn the new words and phrases Ask Ss to learn the new words and phrases in this unit. 设计意图:学习新单词,为学习语篇阅读做铺垫。 Look and discuss Ask Ss to look at the pictures and talk about the questions. What interesting places in China have you visited? Have you ever seen the Great Wall? Have you ever visited another country? Have you ever been to Egypt? Do you know what Egypt is famous for? 设计意图:根据学生年龄特点,通过自由讨论的活动方式引起学生的学习兴趣,活跃课堂气 氛,引入本课话题的同时,为完成阅读任务做铺垫。 Step 3 While-reading Read and choose Asks Ss to read the passage and choose the correct answers to the questions. 1. When did Mike and Clare move to Cairo? A. Last year. B. Two years ago. 2. Have they been to many interesting places? A. Yes, they have. B. No, they haven’t. 3. How many languages have they learnt? A. Four. B. Five. Learning to learn Let Ss use a map to find out the places which are mentioned in the passage. Activity 2 1. Let Ss read the passage again and answer the questions.
