Step 2: While-reading: 1. Skimming: Skim every paragraph and match the main idea with the paragraphs. 2. Careful Reading: Read paragraph 1 carefully and get the main information for the mind-map and the time line. Read paragraph 2 carefully and fill in the blanks of Fact Sheet. Then answer several questions with the comprehension of paragraph 2 and students’ own knowledge background. Read paragraph 3 carefully and get the main information for the mind-map. 3. Summary: Summarize the content of the passage with a mind-map. 4. Retelling: Let the students retell the passage by using their own language. Step 3: After-reading 1.
