Teaching procedures Step 1 Lead-in T asks students to guess what the following poem is about. 远看山有色,近听水无声。春去花还在,人来鸟不惊。 ——王维(唐) T asks students to explain the following sentence. Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks. —Simonides of Ceos T asks students about some famous painters and popular types of painting. Then T shows four paintings and asks students to tell which type they belong to. Sample answers: Picture 1 is a portrait painting because the painting is of a person’s head and shoulders. Picture 2 is a still life painting because the painting is of flowers that have been arranged in a vase. Picture 3 is a real-life painting because the painter painted real people in a real situation; they are dancing and socializing. Picture 4 is a landscape painting because the painting is of a natural view of mountains. 【设计意图:由王维的诗《画》引入本单元开篇古希腊抒情诗人西摩尼德斯的名句“画是无言的诗,诗是有声的画”,让学生自由表达对绘画艺术的理解,谈论熟悉的绘画流派,并能辨认一些大众画派的作品,为引出印象画派这一话题作铺垫。】 Step 2 Pre-reading T asks Ss the following questions: Have you visited any art museum?
