Ⅰ. Teaching objectives:
a. Knowledge objectives:
(1) Key words: smart, beautiful, lazy, small, friendly, cute, scary, shy.
(2) Key structures:
—What animals do you like?
—I like tigers/… Because they are friendly/…
b. Ability objectives:
(1)Train the students to use the target language to describe the animals freely. (2)Train the students’ listening and speaking skills with the target language.
c. Emotion objectives:
Students can use correct words to describe their favorite animals, and let them know that the animals are people’s friends and we should love and protect them.
Ⅱ. Teaching important points:
a. Master description words and sentence patterns.
b. Give students practice in listening, speaking and writing.
c. Students can express their own ideas about their favorite animals freely.
Ⅲ. Teaching difficult points:
Students can use the structure to describe the animals and express preference and reasons freely.
