Methods The randomized controlled trial design method will be patients with chronic heart failure were randomly divided into two groups: the treatment group (60 patients) and the control group (60 patients). The best treatment plan of western medicine was adopted for both groups. And based on this plan， Tongmai Qiangxin capsules and placebo capsules were added respectively， with 4 weeks for a coue of treatment and there were total three coues of treatment. Traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome scores，heart failure integrals，readmission rates，mortality，and other indicato of efficacy and safety were calculated before the treatment，at the 1st coue of treatment，the 2nd coue of treatment and 3rd coue of treatment respectively. Results ①Comparison of the efficacy of TCM syndrome: the total effective rate of treatment group is ％ and the total effective rate of the control group ％. There was statistical difference in the efficacy of TCM syndrome between the two groups (u=，P＜).②Efficacy of cardiac function: the total effective rates of the treatment group and the control group were %(47/60) and %(31/60) was statistical significance in difference between the two groups(u=，P＜).③Quality of life: improvement of quality of life of the patients in treatment group was better than that of the control group(P＜).④Status of
