Section B Reading Singapore- A place you will never forget! 南充龙门 刘娟 Time : 20 minutes 教学目标 语言目标Knowledge objectives: Enable students to get some important information about Singapore and grasp some new words and expressions. 1. Words and expressions: Learn and understand the key words and expressions (take a holiday, three quarters, population, excellent, equator,…) 2. Sentence patterns: Have you ever been to…? Have you tried…? 能力目标Ability objectives: Enable students to read and introduce the characteristics especially the attractive aspects of one place. To improve Ss’ reading ability by learning some reading strategies. To train Ss’ integrating skills . 情感目标Emotion objectives: Inspire students to love their hometown and go outside to see the world if possible. Learn to find the beauty around us and make our city more beautiful. 二、教学重难点 1.To motivate students to grasp the main characteristics about Singapore through fast reading, careful reading and detailed reading. 3.To learn to introduce a country. 三 教学思路Teaching ideas. To motivate students to read and show their ideas, I give them and myself roles. I’m a tour guide and they are tourists. I introduce Singapore to them and help them get some important information about it through different kinds of tasks. 四、教学过程: steps Teachers’ Activities Students’ Activities Purposes Step1 Warming-up Lead-in Task 1 Free talk T: Do you like traveling? What’s your favorite place you have ever been to? Why do you like it? Encourage them to use the present perfect tense. Task 2: T: Do you want to travel abroad? Let’s go to an amazing country. It’s one of my favourite countries to visit in the world. T: What do you want to know if you want to take a holiday in Singapore? Students can talk about the questions freely and review the past perfect tense . Have a brainstorming in group work. Learn how to introduce a place. To review the present perf
