Methods 89 patients with 95 suffered limbs underwent single endovenous laser treatment or combined treatments. Five main strategies were involved: 1. simple endovenous laser treatment(34 limbs) ; 2. endovenous laser treatment combined with high ligation of great saphenous vein(25 limbs) ; 3. endovenous laser treatment combined with external banding valvuloplasty of superficial femoral vein and high ligation of great saphenous vein(25 limbs) ; 4. endovenous laser treatment combined with Subfascial Endoscopic Perforator Surgery (SEPS)( 19 limbs) 5. endovenous laser treatment combined with compression sclerotherapy( 6 limbs) . Results Occlusion of the varicose vei were obtained in all patients after the initial treatment, but in three cases (3.4%), varicose vei recurred a second time, which were also successfully treated with EVLT. All patients were followed up for 1-24 months (mean 7.8 months) with satisfactory results. Conclusion Endovenous laser treatment is a novel treatment for varicose vei with the advantages of increased safety and effectiveness with minimal-invasiveness. Its indicatio can be expanded and better results can be achieved by combining EVLT with other surgical treatments. 【Key words】 endovenous laser treatment lower extremities varicose v
