感受:请学生自己动手制作一张图表来计划一次出行,从中感受一次成功的旅行离不开周全的安排。

感悟:制作一张图表,表述学生上学的路上看到些什么,以及周末去了些什么地方,通过回忆这些内容复习文章句型。

Pre-task preparation:
Warming up
Teacher makes a short dialogue with one or two Ss to elicit today’s topic, for Revision of different ways of travelling to school.
While-task procedure
Look and read on Page 52
Play the recording: Look and read. Ss listen and follow in their books.
Play the recording again. Ss listen and repeat sentence by sentence.
Ss do the soft reading.
Look and say
Ss look at the pictures and say sentences about Eddie and Miss. Guo.
Eddie lives near school.
It takes him only 5 minutes to get to school. Miss Guo lives not too far away from school. It takes her about half an hour to get to school.
Write
Look and write
Ss look at the pictures and complete the information about Simon and Jack.
Simon goes to school on foot, then by underground, then by bus. It takes him more than forty minutes to get to school.
Simon lives quite far away from school.
Jack goes to school by ferry, then by bus, then by underground.
It takes him about/almost an hour to get to school. Jack lives far away from school.
Listen and write
Ss listen to the information about the four teachers: Miss Li, Miss Tan, Miss Chen and Miss Fang once.
Post-task activity:
Draw a bar chart
Invite 2 more able Ss to come to the front to be the hosts. Ask them to fill in the table with right information in the class.
