①掌握与新年决心相关的重点单词及短语。
②了解何为新年决心,为什么要下新年决心,如何来坚持自己的新年决心,新年决心的种类, 新年决心的问题等。
③谈论什么是最好的新年决心。
.过程与方法目标:通过扫读,听录音,朗读,默读小组合作等方式完成知识与技能目标
.情感态度价值观:
每个启B有自己的梦想和对未来的打算,通过学习本节课的内容让学生明白:有梦想固然重要, 但还得付诸于行动,脚踏实地得去完成。
二.教学重点:
⑴学生能%握文章中的重点词汇及短语。
(2)能够掌握文章中心思想和段落大意。
三.教学难点:
如何让学/掌握阅读技巧,提高阅读能力。
Teaching and learning Procedures:
Pre-reading: Students will be involved in the topic of the text.
Share a video with students. And ask them to answer: What resolutions are mentioned in the video.
Ask some students to talk about it.
While-reading: Students will be able to understand the text.
Students will be asked to skim for the main idea for each paragraph. They will be asked to pay attention to the topic sentence of each paragraph.
To question the idea of making resolutions
To give the meaning of resolution
To discuss the different kinds of resolutionsStudents will be asked to put the sentences [A-D] in the correct places. They will be asked to pay attention to the sentence context to help guess.
These are about making yourself a better person.
For example, a student may have to find more time to study.
There are good reasons for this.
The start of the year is often a time for making resolutions.
Scan for the details for Para 1 and choose the right answer. Then answer the questions in the mind-map.
What is a resolution?
When do people usually make resolutions?
Why do people usually make resolutions?
How can people remember their resolutions?
After answering all above questions, students will be required to have a short discussion about how they can remember their resolutions.
Scan for the details for Para 2 and complete the question and fishbone.
Scan for the details for Para 3 and Why do people hardly ever keep resolutions? And students will be asked to have a group discussion:
Do you think the best resolution is to have no resolutions? Why or why not?

* I dont think so because..
