A 1 OF 4 Replacing the 2475 Lamp When to Replace • If the lamp fails to ignite on power-up or does not pass power-up verification • If you are unable to calibrate the detector • When the energy level in the lamp causes a decrease in sensitivity to the point where the baseline is too noisy for your LC application • If the lamp no longer provides an adequate signal-to-noise ratio for your specific application NOTE: You can conserve the lamp’s energy by programming it to turn on and off auto- matically by using a timed event method. It is recommended that you do not turn the lamp off for time periods of less than 4 hours. Refer to the 2475 Operator’s Guide for instructions on how to turn the lamp ON/OFF. Parts Required • 2475 Performance Maintenance Kit, 201000186 Tools Required • Flat-blade screwdriver, WAT272058 • Phillips head screwdriver Precautions • The lamp housing becomes extremely hot during operation. To prevent burns, allow the lamp to cool for one hour before removing it. • The lamp gas is under slight pressure. To prevent shattering the glass, use care when disposing of the old lamp. • Always keep the lamp in the housing during operation. Removing the Old Lamp 1. Turn the detector off, then disconnect the power cord. 2. Allow the lamp to cool for at least 60 minutes. 3. Gently pull the left front panel cover away to remove it. 4. Loosen the flathead captive screw and open the access door. 5. Loosen the two phillips head captive screws that secure the lamp holder. 6. Disconnect the blue anode connector by pinching the locking mechanism. 7. Slide the lamp holder out until you can grasp the white cathode wire, then pull it out with the lamp holder.
