Lead-in
Talk about difficulties in English learning.
Step 1
Warm up:
Activity 1a Check the statements that are true for students in their English learning.
Then lead students to learn some language points in 1a. While learning, ask them to take some notes.
Step 2
Activity 1b Then make a list other difficulties for them in 1b.
Step 3
Activity 1c-listening practice:
Play the record once, students listen carefully and fill in the blanks in 1c.
Step 4
Activity 1c-listening practice:
Require students listen again and fill in the blanks in 1d.
Development:
Listen for the third time, and choose the right answers for the following two questions.
1.What’s Paul’s first problem?
A. He can’t get the pronunciation right.
B. He always forgets the new words.
C. He doesn’t get much writing practice.
2. When does the English club meet?
A. On Tuesdays and Fridays.
B. On Wednesdays and Fridays.
C. On Tuesdays and Thursdays.
