What’s New York like? It’s a big and modern city. 2、能用学过的形容词来描述自己喜欢或者居住的城市。 三、教学过程 一）Warmming up. Review the names of the countries. Look at the pictures and try to speak out the names of the countries. Review the sentence： Where are you from? Look at the flags and try to answer this question in two ways.(板书) Where are you from? I’m from … I come from … Free talk Talk about Guangzhou, encourage the pupils to use more words to describe the city we live in. (学习 modern) 二) Presentation and practise 1.Leading into the new unit, Show out the title and read. 2.Present the questions and learn the questiongs together. A Where is David from? B Where was he born? C Does he like living in the new city? Why? D What’s the New York like? 3.Watch the video twice and then try to answer the questions. 4.Read the questions and the answers together. (If the pupil can answer the questions, let them discuss together.) 5.Read the new words together. 6.Read the dialogue after the teacher. 三）Consolidation and development Read the dialogue in different ways. Sum up the important sentences.(板书) Where are you from? I’m from … I come from … I was born in New York. What’s New York like? It’s a big and modern city. Read and tick or cross. (Page 17) Read the sentences at first. Read the passage and try to find out the answers. Check the answers. Read it again and answer the questions. Write down the answers. Check the answers together. 四） Homework： Copy the new words, Listen and read the dialogue. 教学反思： 本课时是新教材的 U3 对话。对话内容中 Where are you from? 的问答本是这课的重点，但是我们本届学生在旧教材中已经学习了，对于我们的学生来说，不作为新的知识点，这个只作为复习重点之一。学习的第一个环节，我借助这个句型，我带着学生复习了之前学习过的国家名称。这样既复习了旧知识，也能很好地为课文的学习奠定了基础，也活跃了气氛。 在学习新课文前，我设置了几个问题，让学生带着问题来看 video。为了顾及后进生的速度能跟上，我带着学生理解并学习了问题中的新的知识点, 如：was born。学生在看的时候，目标能更加明确，能更好地找到问题的答案。
