Unit 1 My Day A Let’s Talk (教学设计) Basic Information Grade: 5th grade Book: People’s Education Press (PEP) English Book 5B Lesson: Unit 1 My Day A Skills: Listening and speaking Objectives By the end of the lesson, students should be able to: Listen to spoken instructions and respond appropriately. Use appropriate vocabulary and grammar to describe their daily routines. Work collaboratively to complete a task. Materials People’s Education Press English Book 5B (Unit 1 My Day A) Whiteboard and markers Audio player and audio file of the listening text Flipchart or poster with pictures of daily activities Procedure Warm-up (5 minutes) Greet the students and initiate a short discussion about their daily routines. Ask questions like: What time do you wake up in the morning? What do you do first when you wake up? What time do you have breakfast? What do you usually do after school? Write some key vocabulary words on the board that relate to daily routines (e.g., wake up, brush teeth, have breakfast, etc.). Listening Comprehension (10 minutes) Explain to the students that they are going to listen to a dialogue between two people discussing their daily routines. Play the audio file and ask the students to listen carefully. After the audio has finished, ask the students some comprehension questions to check their understanding of the dialogue. Vocabulary and Sentence Structures (15 minutes) Direct the students’ attention to the whiteboard and review the vocabulary related to daily routines that you wrote earlier. Model a few sentences using the vocabulary and the present tense (e.g., I wake up at 7 o’clock. I have breakfast at 7:30. etc.). Ask some volunteers to come to the board and model some sentences. Task-oriented Activity (20 minutes) Divide the class into small groups and give each group a flipchart or poster with pictures of daily activities (e.g., wake up, brush teeth, have breakfast, etc.).
