1.ThisActistheHealthcareServices(Amendment)Act2023andcomesintooperationonadatethattheMinisterappointsbynotificationintheGazette.
Amendmentofsection2
2.Section2(1)oftheHealthcareServicesAct2020(calledinthisActtheprincipalAct)isamended—
(a)byinserting,immediatelyafterthedefinitionof“application”,thefollowingdefinitions:
““approvedconveyance”meansanyconveyanceapprovedundersection11Btobeusedfortheprovisionofalicensablehealthcareservice;
“approvedpermanentpremises”meansanypermanentpremisesapprovedundersection11Btobeusedfortheprovisionofalicensablehealthcareservice;
(b)bydeletingthedefinitionof“Director”andsubstitutingthefollowingdefinition:
““Director-General”meanstheDirector-GeneralofHealthandincludesanyindividualwhois,forthetimebeing,dischargingthedutiesoftheDirector-GeneralofHealth;”;
(c)bydeletingthedefinitionsof“licensedconveyance”and“licensedpremises”;
(d)byinserting,immediatelyafterthedefinitionof“oralhealththerapist”,thefollowingdefinition:
““permanentpremises”,inrelationtoanapplicantforalicencetoprovidealicensablehealthcareserviceoralicensee,meansanypremisesatwhichtheapplicantorlicensee(asthecase
“approvedspecifiedservice”meansspecifiedserviceapproved
