T-SInteraction:Askstudents:Whatrulesdoweneedtofollowintheseplaces?(e.g.,Donttalkloudlyinthelibrary,Followthetrafficrules).

Purpose:Toengagestudentsandintroducethethemeofrulesandorder,whichconnectstothegrammarpointofimperatives.

Step2:Presentation(10minutes)

1.AffirmativeImperatives:

(1)Writeontheboard:Sitdown,Openyourbook,Raiseyourhand.

(2)Explainthattheseareimperativesentencesusedtogiveorders,instructions,orsuggestions.Thesubject(you)isusuallyimplied.

Example:Sitdown=Yousitdown.

2.NegativeImperatives:

(1)Writeontheboard:Donttalk,Dontrun,Dontshout.

(2)Explainthatnegativeimperativesareusedtotellsomeonenottodosomething.
