However, it also revealed a good deal of something that help us understand Hardy’s central theme of the book. It was because the versatility of Tess herself that made her unique. However, she was a woman of purity and fortitude. Tess’ss tragedy included three parts. Being seduced by Alec D’Urbervilles and became an unfortunate woman was the beginning of her tragedy. Being abandoned by her husband Angel Clare and became a abandoned woman was the development of her tragedy. The climax of her tragedy was that she killed Alec and finally hanged by for murder.
