It is believed that the informationprocessing mode in the process of listening compre hension is the interaction of topdown processing and bottomup processing and background knowledge plays a very important role in listening comprehension. This paper concludes with the application of cognitive the ory in listening comprehension courses. Cognitive linguistics studies the relationship between language and cognition , which provides us with a better understanding of listening comprehension process , thus greatly benefiting listening comprehension courses.
