[ A bstract] The author of th is article exam inines and stud ies the fact of orienteering sports course for un iversities
among Guangzhou Un iversity City. The author concludes the insufficiency of equipment and map, the numerous
preparation details before class, the lmi it of teaching hours. There is little amount of universities hold ing the orien
teering sports course. A ccording to the facts, the author suggests to carry out thew ay to broaden operation modes,
to combine the content inside or outside of the course, inside or outside the un iversity. It can resolve realistic prob
lem and provide reference data for holding orienteering sports course in university.
