China Abstract Obj ective:To inves iga e MRI manifes a ions and charac eris ics of hemochroma osis, o make a preliminary quan i a ive analysis of he level of reduced signal, as w ell as o evalua e he value of MRI in diagnosis of hemochroma osis. Methods:The signal in ensi ies of liver, spleen and spinal muscular erec ion were measured on 19 cases w i h hemochroma osis and 20 cases in con rol group, and he signal in ensi y ra io and he level of reduced signal ra io w ere calcula ed separa ely. Results: Of 19 cases w i h hemochroma osis, each of diff eren MRI sequences could display reduced signal in ensi y of varying severi y in liver and spleen. T WI and T WI also show ed 1 2 reduced signal in ensi y of liver and spleen , obviously on T WI, and more sensi ive especially on GRE sequence. Of 19 cases, he signal 2 in ensi y reduced obviously in 6 cases bo h in liver and spleen , 8 cases only in liver , 5 cases in spleen bu noobviously in liver, no cases in pancreas . Conclusion: MRI has a high degree of sensi ivi y and specifici y for he diagnosis of hemochroma osis.
