Methods: 20 patients with PV were randomly divided into two groups.The TCM and Western medicine therapy group(10 cases) was treated with Shuganhuoxuetang formula and the western medicine control group(10 cases) was treated with Hydroxyurea and interferon medicines for 3 months of therapy respectively.The clinical effect were observed during the course;hemoglobin counts.Using MTT method to confirmed the exact role of realgar inhibit proliferation of HEL cell line.To determine the mRNA expressions of JAK2 in HEL cell line after using different concentrations of realgar by RT-PCR assay. Results:The total effective rate of the TCM and Western medicine therapy group reaches 90.00 ％,can effectively reduce hemoglobin count of PV patients,while that of the western medicine control group reaches 80.00%,which shows no significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).there is significant di
