ABSTRACT With the development of world economy and the global trend of environment protection，sustainable development has accepted by international society．The problem of trade and environment has become one of the focus topics in the field of world politics and economy．And it gains more and more attention． In this context，green barrier to trade，a kind of trade measures to protect the life and health of human-being，animal and plant，and to prevent environment pollution, replaces taftff and some non-tariff barriers，plays a even more important role in international trade．In order to protect the life and health of human-being，animal and plant，and to prevent environment pollution，some developed countries，such as Japan， United States and European Union，have established rigorous technical standards， statutes and authentication systems depending on their advantages of economy and technology．All these measures affect the export of China and other developing countries打emendously． Agriculture relates to environment directly．Green barrier to trade affects the trade of agricultural product most．Among all the industries affected by green barrier to trade in China,the export of agriculture product also suffers most．Agriculture relates to the national economy and the people’s livelihood，SO it has a special status in all kinds ofexport goods．Green barrier to仃ade obstructs Chinese agricultural product into the target market，reduces the competitive ability and causes a huge loss of Chinese agricultural product．Facing the problem of Chinese agricultural product against green barrier to trade，we must pay enough attention，analysis the problems and plan the countermeasures． This paper elaborated the problem of Agriculture and Environment，in打oduced the contents，characteristics and developing trends of green barrier to trade；collected and studied the green barrier to trade implemented by the developed countries， especially by Japan,United States and European Union which are the main export
