ABSTRACT China’S entry to the WTO will definitely have a profound influence on its agricultural trade．In the meanwhile，it is necessary that we thoroughly study the WTO rules on agricultural trade，particularly“the Agriculture Agreement”．In this article，I introduced the main content of this agreement in details．At the same time I compared the commitments made when China joined the WTO．Furthermore，I analyzed basic characteristics of China’S agricultural trade，thus discovering the gap between China’S agricultural trade rule and the WTO rule． According to China，the accession to the WTO meant opportunities and challenges as well．As China became fully integrated into the organization in the past few years，China’S agricultural trade has made great achievements in terms of the rapid growth rate of export volume．Despite those encouraging developments，some unfavorable factors emerged after China’S WTO entry．As the governments protective policies on domestic farm products begin to be phased out，foreign farm products at lower prices are set to pose great challenges to their Chinese counterparts．The flood of foreign farm products，mainly cereals and grains，into China will put heaW pressure on the country’S foreign exchange reserve．In addition，Chinese products those have comparative advantages have been suffering as a result of an increase in the block of green barriers-import restrictions on the grounds of environmental and food safety．The green barriers have written off part of the benefit brought by lowered tariff rates and increased import quotas of other countries． The entry into the WTO will help China accelerate its agriculture II reform and establish an agdculture macro—control system compatible with the market economy,thus enhancing the production of agricultural products and sharpening the competitive edge of Chinas farm products in the international market．However,we still have long way to go in this aspect．It is recommended that we take following measures：1 st，establish
