I am sure he will come. 我确信他会来的。 sure用作形容词，意为“肯定的，一定的，有把握的”。例如： （1）Are you sure? 你确定吗？ （2）How can you be so sure? 你怎么这样肯定呢？ be sure +从句表示对某事确信有把握，例如： （3）I am sure he can help me. 我有把握他能帮我。 （4）I am not sure whether they will come. 我不能确定他们是否来。 be sure 后还可接to do表示说话人的请求和判断。例如： （5）You are sure to win. 你一定会赢。（说话人的判断） （6）Be sure to write to me. 一定给我写信。（说话人的请求） sure还可用作副词，意为“当然了，一定”，一般用在答句中，如Are you going with us? Sure. 你跟我们去吗？当然了。 3. Thank you for inviting me. 谢谢你邀请我。 invite 用作动词，意为“邀请”意同ask，但invite较为正式，常用的句式有，invite sb to +n 例如： （1）He invited me to dinner last night. 他昨天晚上请我去吃饭了。 invite sb to do sth. （2）They invited me to join their club. 他们邀请我去参加他们的俱乐部。 invite for + n （3）He invited us for the concert. 他邀请我们去参加音乐会了。 4. I’m afraid I may be a little late. 恐怕我可能晚一点。 may为情态动词，意为“也许，会”，如： （1）He may come today. 他也许今天晚上来。 may be是情态动词加动词原形，可做谓语。 （2）He may be at home today. 他今天可能在家。 注意和maybe连写的区别。maybe连写是副词。例如： （3）Maybe he is right. 也许他是对的。 5.
