A Variation-theory Based Study of the English Versions of Liu Yuxi’s Poetry in the Era of Globalization 【ABSTRACT】The study analyzes how Liu Yuxi’s vernacular-style poems can make the best use of the situation to be translated through translation variation theory in the era of globalization. The thesis sums up the present translation level and looks forward to better translation. The theoretical foundation of the thesis is translation variation theory from Huang Zhonglian, adopting document study methodology. Through the study we find that in recent years, for a variety of translation theories and application of translation variation, the Tang poetry translation considers the reception of target language readers. Besides, the translation of Tang poetry is not influenced by the hegemony and maintains the localization to push the Chinese tradional culture to the stage of the outside world. But, the translation variation has not been widely accepted by the translation circle, the number of translation versions is quite small. Therefore, aiming to these two questions above, we suggest that the Tang poetry translation circle can make full use of the translation subjective role. Not to overemphasize the fidelity and rhyme of the poetry but ignoring the deep meaning of the poetry. Besides, we also suggest that translators of Tang poetry should study Tang poetry as deeply as possible to give the readers the better acceptable translations. 【KEYWORDS】globalization eratranslation of Tang poetry; translation variation 全球化时代刘禹锡诗英译的变译研究 摘　要 本研究通过分析刘禹锡民歌风味诗歌在全球化时代的语境下如何因势利导进行变译，总结了现有的英译水平并展望更高水平的翻译。课题以黄忠廉变译理论作为理论基础，采取了文献研究的研究方法。通过研究发现，近年来因为翻译理论的多样化和变译理论的应用，唐诗英译版本同时考虑了译入语读者的接受并不受全球化文化殖民的影响并同时兼顾了本地化以求将中华文化推向世界的舞台。但是，变异理论并未受到广泛的接受，且唐诗英译版本在数量上甚少。因此，针对上述问题，我们建议唐诗翻译界在将后的唐诗英译过程中，能够充分发挥翻译的主体作用，不要过分强调对于原作的忠实度和节律从而忽视了唐诗的内涵。此外，我们还建议唐诗翻译者要认真地研习唐诗，唯有此才能结合翻译知识提供给全球读者接受度更高的译作。 关键词：全球化时代；唐诗英译；变译 Contents Acknowledgments III Abstract V 全球化时代刘禹锡诗英译的变译研究 VI 摘　要 VI 1 Introduction 1
