Secondary bodies of the Council for Trade in Services: Committee on Trade in Financial Services Working Party on Domestic Regulation Committee on Specific Commitments Working Party on GATS Rules The TRIPS Council meets in special sessions; such as negotiations on a multilateral system for notifying and registering geographical indications for wines and spirits, under the Doha Development Agenda. Other bodies reporting to the General Council: 1.Committee on Trade and Environment 2.Committee on Trade and Development 3.Committee on Balance-of Payments Restrictions 4.Committee on Regional Trade Agreements 5.Committee on Budget, Finance and Administration Other bodies reporting to the General Council: 6.Working Group on Trade and Transfer of Technology 7.Working Group on Trade, Debt and Finance 8.Trade Negotiations Committee 2. The secondary bodies of the Council for Trade in Services The Committee on Trade in Financial Services carries out discussions on matters relating to trade in financial services and formulate proposals or recommendations for consideration by the Council. The continuous review and surveillance of the application of the GATS with respect to financial services are the responsibility of this Committee. The Committee also serves as a forum for technical discussions and examination of regulatory developments affecting financial services trade. The Committee on Specific Commitments concluded its work on the procedures on the certification of rectifications or improvements to schedules of specific commitments on 11 April 2000. The Committee continues its work on the classification of services sectors. The Working Party on Domestic Regulations is drafting disciplines relating to technical standards, licensing and qualification requirements for all services sectors. Until 26 April 1999, the Working Party on Domestic Regulations was known as the Working Party on Professional Services. The Working Party on GATS Rules continues its work on subsidies, go
