Ezrin protein in colorectal carcinoma and its relationship with clinicopathological features

PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 10 Ezrin protein in colorectal carcinoma and its relationship with clinicopathological features Study: Fan Jie Shiwei Jean Lee Ying Guo Bai Meiling [Abstract] Objective: To investigate the Ezrin Expression in Colorectal Cancer and Its Relationship with clinicopathological parameters. METHODS: Immunohistochemistry SP method detected 100 cases of colorectal cancer and 11 cases of adjacent normal mucosa, the expression of Ezrin. Results: Ezrin expression rate in colorectal normal mucosa, colorectal cancer was 36.4%, 75%, the difference was statistically significant (P lt;0.05); Ezrin positive rate of lymph node metastasis (89.6%) was significantly higher than those without lymph node metastasis group (61.5%) (P lt;0.05); in colorectal cancer, Ezrin colorectal cancer patients with abnormal expression of the age, sex, tumor site and degree of differentiation (Pgt; 0.05). CONCLUSION: Ezrin expression increased cancer tips organizations have higher infiltration, invasion and lymph node metastasis risk, inspection Ezrin is expected to become the prognosis of colorectal cancer patients to determine a new index or a target for the treatment of tumor metastasis. [Keywords:] intestinal neoplasms; tumor metastasis; immunohistochemistry; membrane cytoskeletal binding protein Ezrin, a member of the ezrin radixin moesin (ERM) family in species conserved protein, is a membrane cytoskeleton linker and is involved in cellular functions, including epithelial cell morphogenesis and adhesion [1]. It is encode by vil2 (6q25.2 ~ q26) and its functional domain is FERM domain. The inactivation of Ezrin causes a massive cell retraction and leads to the destruction of both cell cell and cell substrate adhesion, whereas the overexpression of Ezrin in insect cells results in enhanced cell adhesion [2,3 ]. The expression of Ezrin in a series of patients with colorectal carcinoma was studied, using immunohistochemistry to elucidate its functional importance and
