Hyperbaric oxygen therapy in children with viral applications

PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 6 Hyperbaric oxygen therapy in children with viral applications [Abstract] Objective To investigate the hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) treatment of children with viral myocarditis (VM) before and after the cardiac function, serum troponin (CTnI) concentration changes and clinical efficacy. Methods 63 cases of VM patients were randomly divided into control group and the HBO group, combined therapy in the same conditions, HBO group was treated with hyperbaric oxygen therapy; use of serum CTnI, determination of cardiac function and clinical outcomes were evaluated. Results After treatment, both groups of serum CTnI measured values were significantly lower, and the HBO group than the control group; indicators of cardiac function recovery of the HBO group also better than the control group; HBO group 25 cases were cured 32 patients (78.12%), improved in 5 cases (15.63%), 2 cases (6.25%), control group 17 of 31 patients cured cases (54.84%), improved in 8 cases (25.81%), 6 cases (19.35%), cure rate compared two groups, there was significant difference (P lt;0.05). Conclusion hyperbaric oxygen therapy can significantly improve the clinical cure rate of VM to promote the recovery of cardiac function and CTnI. [Keywords:] hyperbaric oxygen in children with viral Viral myocarditis is a virus causing focal or diffuse myocardial inflammation, cardiac interstitial inflammatory infiltrates and myocardial fiber degeneration and necrosis, some patients may be associated with changes in the pericardium, or endocarditis. The severity of clinical manifestations of disease vary prognosis mostly good, but a few can occur heart failure, cardiogenic shock, and even sudden death. Coxsackie viral myocarditis is clinically the most common. First, the cause of Viruses can cause myocarditis, which the intestinal and upper respiratory tract infection the most common viruses.
