Fifteen compounds of which percentage was 77.19%, were considered the bases. Terpenoids were found to be lower in the oil compared with other plants of the same genus.-Elemene (5.24%) ,2-methylene-4 ,8,8-trimethyl-4-viny-bicyclo [5,2,0] noane ( 33.55%), n-Pentadecane (7.02%), Z-Nerolidol (5.20%) ,3,7,11,15-Tetramethyl-1 ,6,10,14-cetene-3-ol (15%) and Phytol ( 5.33%) were found to be high in the oil.ConclusionIngredient and percentage of volatile oil can be used as characteristic for identification of Piper puberulum, or as reference for exploiture of the herba.
