 PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 16 Reconstruction of the medial patellar ligament in treatment of children with recurrent dislocation of the patella Abstract [Objective] To investigate the reconstruction of the medial patellar ligament in treatment of children with recurrent patellar dislocation results. [Method] 11 patients with 14 knees with recurrent patellar dislocation in children using semitendinosus reconstruction of the medial patellar ligament (MPFL) surgery to treat patients through at least three years of follow-up, understanding recurrence of knee dislocation, suffering from subjective symptoms of knee as well as the overall function in limb. [Results] knee dislocation without recurrence, surgery before and after the IKDC subjective knee function scores were (39.4 ± 4.7) and (91.3 ± 6.1), X-ray examination before surgery and the last one second follow-up, coordination of patellofemoral angle were (17.9 ± 6.1) and (5.4 ± 8.3), Insall patella index were (1.34 ± 0.21) and (1.17 ± 0.33), lateral patellofemoral angle, respectively (-2.3 ± 8.7) and (10.3 ± 3.9). P values are “0.01, [Conclusion] semitendinosus reconstruction of the medial patellar ligament surgery can be effective in treatment of children with recurrent patellar dislocation, relapse prevention, and to help alleviate the symptoms of knee joint and restore knee function. [Method] Forteen knees of 11 cases of children recurrent patellar dislocation were treated by reconstruction of MPFL, the patients were followed for 3 years at least.The rate of recurrence, the subjective symptoms and the function of the injured leg were evaluated. [Result] There was no rec
