Abstract ABSTRACT Objective: To detect the expression of Wnt1, Wnt5a and Survivin in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and normal pancreatic tissue adjacent to carcinoma, study its relationship with the clinicopathologic parameters of PDAC and explore its clinical significance. Methods: 43 cases of PDAC tissues and corresponding normal pancreatic tissues adjacent to the carcinoma, which Formalin- fixed and paraffine-embedded were collected from the department of pathology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from January 2008 to December 2013. The expre ssion of Wnt1, Wnt5a and Survivin were detected by streptavidin-perosidase (SP) immunohistochemical method. The statistic analysis of experimental data was performed by SPSS 19.0 software. Results: 1. Wnt1 was mainly expressed in cytoplasm. The expression of Wnt1 in PDAC tissue s and normal pancreatic tissue s adjacent to carcinoma were 72.09% (32/43) and 34.88% (15/43), respectively. The expression of Wnt1 in PDAC group was significantly higer than that in normal pancreatic group (P ＜0.05). The expression of Wnt1 in PDAC group was significantly correlated to histological grades, nerve invasion, lymphatic metastasis and TNM stage (P ＜0.05), but was not correlated to age, sexuality, tumor size and tumor location (P ＞0.05). 2. Wnt5a was mainly expressed in cytoplasm. The expression of Wnt5a in PDAC tissues and normal pancreatic tissues adjacent to carcinoma were 69.77% (30/43) and 27.91% (12/43), respectively.
