This paper gives an application of Mawhin’s coincidence degree and matrix spectral theory to a predator-prey model with M-predators and N-preys. The method is di?erent from that used in the previous work. Some new su?cient conditions are obtained for the existence and global asymptotic stability of the periodic solution. The existence and stability conditions are given in termsofspectralradiusofexplicitmatriceswhicharemuchdi?erentfromtheconditionsgivenby thealgebraicinequalities. Finally,anexampleisgiventoshowthefeasibility ofourresults. 1.IntroductionandMotivation 1.1.HistoryandMotivations Mawhin’scoincidencedegreetheoryhasbeenappliedextensivelytostudytheexistenceof periodicsolutionsfornonlineardi?erentialsystemse.g.see1–16andreferencestherein . The most important step of applying Mawhin’s degree theory to nonlinear di?erential equations is to obtain the priori bounds of unknown solutions to the operator equation Lx  λNx. However, di?erent estimation techn
