Itapplies piecewise cubic algebraic curves to give aglobal G2 continuity approximation to planar parametric curves. Approximation error on approximate implicitization of rational curves is given. With the parametric form, it is easy to generate points on a general curve/surface and plot it. On the other hand, it is convenient to determine whether a point is on, inside, or outside a given solid with the implicittreatments. For any rational parametric curve/surface, we can convert it into implicit form. However, for a general parametric curve/surface, we usually cannot compute its exact implicit form.
