The development of eco-friendly technologies in material synthesis is of considerable importance to expand their biological applications. Nowadays, a variety of inorganic nanoparticles with well-de?ned chemical composition, size, and morphology havebeensynthesizedbyusingdi?erentmicroorganisms,andtheirapplicationsinmanycutting-edgetechnologicalareashave beenexplored.Thispaperhighlightstherecentdevelopmentsofthebiosynthesisofinorganicnanoparticlesincludingmetallic nanoparticles, oxide nanoparticles, sul?de nanoparticles, and other typical nanoparticles. Di?erent formation mechanisms of thesenanoparticleswillbediscussedaswell.Theconditionstocontrolthesize/shapeandstabilityofparticlesaresummarized.
