Weexaminedtheassociationbetweenbloodpressure(BP)reactivitytoanangerprovocationinterviewand10-yearincidentCVD eventsin1,470adultsfromthepopulation-based1995NovaScotiaHealthSurvey(NSHS95).Inanunadjustedmodel,thosein thehighestdecileofsystolicBPreactivityweremorethantwiceaslikelytohaveanincidentCVDeventcomparedtothoseinthe decilewithnoreactivity(HR=2.33,95%CI=1.15–4.69,P=0.02).However,afteradjustingforageandsex,andthenalsofor Framinghamriskscore,bodymassindex,andeducation,thisrelationshipwasattenuatedandnotstatisticallysigni?cant.Diastolic BPreactivitywasnotassociatedwithCVDincidenceinanymodel.Individualdi?erencesinBPreactivitytoalaboratory-induced, structuredangerprovocationinterviewmaynotplayamajorroleinclinicalCVDendpoints. 1.Introduction initially normotensive young men with a family history of hypertension [4]. Moreover, BP reactivity to psychological stresshasb
