The steady boundary layer ?ow and heat transfer of a viscous ?uid on a moving ?at plate in a parallel free stream with variable ?uid properties are studied. Two special cases, namely, constant ?uid properties and variable ?uid viscosity,areconsidered. The transformed boundary layerequationsaresolvednumerically bya?nite-di?erenceschemeknownasKeller-boxmethod. Numericalresultsforthe?owandthethermal?eldsforbothcasesareobtainedforvariousvalues ofthefreestreamparameter andthePrandtlnumber.Itisfoundthatdualsolutions existforboth caseswhenthe?uidandtheplatemoveintheopposite directions. Moreover,?uidwithconstant propertiesshowsdragreductioncharacteristics comparedto?uidwithvariableviscosity. 1.
