Thisstudyfocusesontheprocessofoptimizationforcarbonnano?bersynthesisattheexteriorandtheinteriorof3-dimensional sinterednickelmicro?brousnetworks.Synthesisofcarbonnano?bers(CNF)bycatalyticdecompositionofacetylene(ethyne) wasconductedatatmosphericpressureandshortreactiontimes(10min).Twofactorsevaluatedduringthestudywere(a)CNF quality(observedbySEMandRamanspectroscopy)and(b)rateofreaction(gravimetricallymeasuredcarbonyield).Independent optimization variables included redox faceting pretreatment of nickel, synthesis temperature, and gas composition.
