Erianthusarundinaceumisawild relativespeciesofsugarcane.Theaimofthisresearchwastodemonstratethefeasibilityof cDNA-SRAPfordi?erentialgeneexpressionandtoexplorethemolecularmechanismofdroughtresistanceinE.arundinaceum. cDNA-SRAPtechnique,forthe?rsttime,wasappliedintheanalysisofdi?erentialgeneexpressioninE.arundinaceumunder drought stress. In total, eight di?erentially expressed genes with length of 185–427bp were successfully isolated (GenBank Accession numbers: EU071770, EU071772, EU071774, EU071776, EU071777, EU071779, EU071780, and EU071781). Based ontheirhomologieswithgenesinGenBank,thesegeneswereassumedtoencoderibonucleaseIII,vacuolarprotein,ethylene insensitiveprotein,aerobactinbiosynthesisprotein,photosystemIIprotein,glucosetransporter,leucine-richrepeatprotein,and ammoniamonooxygenase.Real-timePCRanalysisontheexpressionpro?lingofgene(EU071774)encodingethylene-insensitive proteinandgene(EU071781)encodingammoniamonooxygenaserevealedthattheexpressionofthesetwogeneswasupregulated bothbyPEGandABAtreatments,suggestingthattheymayinvolveinthedroughtresistanceofE.arundinaceum.Thisstudy constitutesthe?rstreportofgenesactivatedinE.arundinaceumbydroughtstressandop
