In addition, weinvestigated the role of the autonomic nervous system as a possibleoutputpathwayoftheSCNtomodifytheactivityoftheliverafterlightexposure. MethodologyandPrincipalFindings:First,wedemonstratedthatlight,appliedatdifferentcircadiantimes,affectsclock geneexpressioninadifferentmanner,dependingonthetimeofdayandtheorgan.However,thechangesinclockgene expressiondidnotcorrelateinaconsistentmannerwiththoseoftheoutputgenes(i.e.,genesinvolvedinthefunctional output of an organ).
