Methods:TheDanishversionsoftheSDQweredistributedtoatotalof71,840parentandteacherratersof5-,7-and10-to 12-year-oldchildrenincludedinfourlargescaleDanishcohorts.Theinternalreliabilitywasassessedandexploratoryfactor analyses were carried out to replicate the originally proposed five factor structure. Mean scores and percentiles were examinedinordertodifferentiatebetweenlow,mediumandhighlevelsofemotionalandbehaviouraldifficulties. Results:Theoriginalfivefactorstructurecouldbesubstantiallyconfirmed.TheConductitemshoweverdidnotsolelyload ontheproposedConductscaleandtheConductscalewasfurthercontaminatedbynon-conductitems.Positivelyworded itemstendedtoloadontheProsocialscale.Thiswasmoresothecaseforteachersthanforparents.Parentandteacher meansandpercentileswerefoundtobelowercomparedtoBritishfiguresbutsimilartooronlyslightlylowerthanthose foundintheotherNordiccountries.Thepercentilesforgirlsweregenerallylowerthanforboys,markedlysofortheteacher hyperactivityratings. Conclusions:ThestudysupportstheusefulnessoftheSDQasascreeningtoolforboysandgirlsacrossagegroupsand ratersinthegeneralDanishpopulation. Citation: Niclasen
