Methods:Fourhundredandsixneonateswereprospectivelyscreenedforsepsisovera6monthperiod.Sensitivity ofthebacterialisolatestodifferentantibioticswasdeterminedusingKirby-Bauerdiffusionmethod. Results:Gramnegativeorganismspredominated(75.1%)withKlebsiellapneumonia(58.2%)beingthecommonest. Thequinoloneswerethemostsensitiveantibioticstothecommonlyisolatedorganisms. Conclusion:KlebsiellapneumoniaisthecommonestorganismresponsibleforneonatalsepsisinPortHarcourt. Thereisanoveralldeclineintheantibioticsusceptibilitytothecommonlyisolatedbacterialpathogens.
