Methods:Thirty-onehealthyadults(19malesand12femaleswithmeanage,body weightandheightfor25.3±3.8yearsold,64.1±6.2kg,and169.4±7.3cm, respectively)wererecruited.Allparticipantsperformedverticaljumptestspriorto (withouttaping)andduringelastictaping.Twoelastictapes,Kinesiotapeand Mplacebotapefromtwodifferentmanufacturers,wereappliedtotheparticipants, respectively. Results:Theresultsshowedthattheverticalgroundreactionforceincreasedwhen Kinesiotapewasappliedevenwhentheheightofjumpremainedaboutconstant. However,theheightofthejumpdecreased,andtherewasnodifferenceonthe verticalgroundreactionforceinMplacebotapinggroup.AlthoughtheEMGactivity ofmedialgastrocnemiustendedtoincreaseinKinesiotapinggroup,wedidnotsee differencesinEMGactivityforthemedialgastrocnemius,tibialisanteriorandsoleus musclesineithergroup. Conclusions:BasedonthevariedeffectsofKinesiotapeandMplacebotape, differentinterventiontechniquewassuggestedforspecificpurposeduringvertical jumpmovement.Mplacebotapewasdemandedforthebenefitsofstabilization, protection,andtherestrictionofmotionattheanklejoint.Ontheotherhand,the findingsmayimplicatebenefitsformedialgastrocnemiusmusclestrengthandpush- offforcewhenu
