On the College English Teaching in the ‘environmental teaching mode’
Abstract: The social constructivist theory that learning occurs environment for learners play an important role in the learning process, learning environment can be divided into three different levels: classroom environment, education, environment, social and cultural environment. In this paper, from China’s social and cultural environment and education system of these two higher levels of environmental factors on their respective impact on English teaching and to propose in the English classroom teaching should be suited to our environment, ‘environmental teaching mode’.

1 Introduction
University English as an important foundation courses in colleges and universities in a curriculum reform in a pivotal position, because now is a high-tech and highly competitive information age. Faced with the challenges of knowledge-based economy and the talent competition, English as an access to a variety of professional knowledge and information tools have been very important. After the accession to WTO, China’s industries to directly face the international market, the increasingly frequent international exchanges and the rapid technological development of personnel training quality standards higher and higher, how to develop an integrated high-quality, foreign language communicative ability of the compound talent, this is a hot college English curriculum reform issues, is also a difficult issue which deserves our careful exploration and research. 90 years in the late 20th century, China’s college English teaching experienced a larger scope, vigorous reforms, ‘College English Syllabus’ (as amended) was enacted in 1999 introduced a new generation of college English textbooks published in succession.
