Art students of English for Specific Purposes Curriculum
Professional Purposes (ESP) language learning has a long history and has undergone many changes (Strevens, 1977). Recently, the English language in international science and technology, arts, business, tourism and other areas of control and domination, the teaching the focus of research and curriculum has been placed on English. When the English as a Second Language near into a new stage of development, English for Specific Purposes (ESP), such as scientific and technical English, Art English, Business English and English for Tourism also will in the world to expand its scope of application. Thus, in our country, ESP will continue to be the next period of time, the mainstream of domestic English. It’s learning objectives clear, is targeted, highly practical way of teaching, for in terms of students, English as a means or tool to learn with their profession or field of interest between the English content, ESP curriculum is also very important and complex issues.
This article will first discuss two important components of ESP: Student needs assessment and analysis of voice. Then introduced from the broad features of ESP. After a brief introduction of the ESP for the arts curriculum in the students, English teachers in China are facing practical problems. Finally, summing up the mode of foreign ESP course, students will emphasize the art of ESP curriculum issues and contradictions.
