* * * Lesson plan interpretation Analysis of teaching material This section provides us some pictures of the great people and many adjectives describing the famous people to get students have a knowledge of the qualities of a great person which is conducive to the cultivation of students’ minds. It contains warming up and pre-reading part on page 33. Warming up is to let students brainstorm some adjectives concerning great people while the pre-reading part is to let students know the qualities of a great person and the differences between the famous people and the great person. Background information: Students: 40 senior high school students, Grade one Lesson duration: 45mins Teaching difficulties: how to let the students express their ideas clearly and how to cooperate well with their classmates. Teaching important points: ◆Get students know the qualities of a great person and learn from them. ◆Know the differences between the famous people and the great one. ◆Help students have a right attitude towards their idols. Teaching aims: By the end of the class, students should be able to: ①Have a knowledge of some qualities of the great people and learn from them to elevate their own minds. ②Have a rough understanding about the differences between the famous people and the great one. ③Take a right attitude towards their idols. ④Learn how to describe a person in English, especially using adjectives. ⑤Improve some speaking skills. ⑥Know the form of debate.
