Methods HBV genotypes in 46 patients with HBV infection-associated HCC and 90 patients with a natural chronic HBV infection history at different phases in the Northern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were identified by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR. Laboratory findings and pathological data were obtained from medical records of the patients. Results Genotypes B, C, and non-A and B accounted for 77.8%, 18.9%, and 3.3%, respectively, in patients with chronic HBV infection. Genotypes B and C accounted for 78.3% and 21.7% in HCC patients. No significant difference was observed in distribution of HBV genotypes among the patients with HBV infection, HCC, and chronic HBV infection at different phases (P0.05). A significant difference was found in HBV-DNA between genotypes B and C （P0.01）. The ALT, AST, TBIL, ALB, and age levels were significantly higher in HCC patients than in those with chronic HBV infection at different phases（P0.05）.
