= Abstract Objective T o investi ate the influence of butylphthalide on incidence of post stroke dementia ( PSD) .
Methods 178 patient s w ith acute ischemic stroke w ere randomly divided into two roups, includin treatment roup
treated wit h butylphthalide for 3 months and cont rol roup treated w ith routine therapy . MMSE Scale and A DL Scale
were assessed. Results The incidence rate of PSD in t reatment roup was low er than that in control roup. MMSE
Scale and A DL Scale of treatment roup w ere hi her than that in cont rol roup. Conclusion Early treat ed w ith bu-
tylphthalide can reduce incidence of post stroke dementia.
