Expression of prostatic acid phosphatase in prostatic adenocarcinoma Author: Wang Yi, Wang Fang, Su Xiaoyun Harada Shou Shan Tian Liang, the Ito Christine Wu, Yan Wei-Qun [Abstract] Objective: To investigate the prostate associated antigen prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP expression levels in prostate cancer. Methods: RT PCR method and Western Blot method to detect a variety of adenocarcinoma cell line PAP mRNA and PAP protein expression level, with the PAP protein expression levels in adenocarcinoma tumor tissue detected by immunohistochemistry method. Results: 3 colon cancer cells (colo 201, colo 205 and colo 320,3 gastric cancer cells (MKN 7, MKN 28 and MKN 45 and seven types of breast cancer cells (OCUB F, OCUB M, R 27, MCF 7, the CRL 1500, the YMB  E and MDA MB 231) expression PAP mRNA and PAP protein, colon cancer, gastric cancer, and breast tumor tissue PAP positive expression were not found in the detection of the five kinds of renal cell carcinoma and renal cell carcinoma tissue expression of PAP. Conclusions: PAP is the new target of the colon, stomach and breast cancer. METHODS: A variety of adenocarcinoma cell lines were examined for their PAP expression at the mRNA and protein levels by RT PCR and Western Blot analysis, respectively. The PAP expression in cancer tissues was also exa mined by immunohistochemical staining. RESULTS: Three kinds of colon cancer cells (colo 201, colo 205 and colo 320), 3 kinds of gastric cancer cells ( MKN 7, MKN 28 and MKN 45), and 7 kinds of breast cancer cell lines (OCUB  F, OCUB M, R 27, MCF 7, CRL 1500, YMB 1 E and MDA MB 231) as well as cancer tissues were found to be positive for PAP at both the mRNA and protein levels.
